Eoin Morgan Emerge as Leading Contender

Eoin Morgan has quickly become the most discussed name in CSK’s search for a new head coach. The former England captain brings elite leadership credentials, even though he has never worked as a head coach at the international or franchise level.

His reputation, however, is built on big-stage decision-making. Morgan led England to the 2019 ODI World Cup title and also captained Kolkata Knight Riders to the IPL 2021 final, where KKR lost to CSK. Speaking on the development, Rohit Juglan of RevSportz said the talks have been positive, but the financial demand is proving to be a sticking point. “The conversations with Eoin Morgan have been fruitful,” he noted, while also suggesting that the asking price is far higher than CSK may be comfortable with at this stage.
